Seventy-one years and still counting, Oxford's annual Christmas Bird Count that Dr. Robert Hefner began in 1937 took place Saturday, Dec. 20. This was National Audubon's 109th Christmas Bird Count. More than 21 local birders counted 69 species of birds at the event.
